A whole recipe collection, in your pocket

Every recipe in a large public collection, searchable from a phone. Nothing is loaded until you ask for it, and then only the small piece you asked for.

Recipes are from the FFTS / Now You're Cooking! Meal-Master collections (100 of them), kept as their contributors wrote them. They are source text: not tested, not checked for safety, and not nutrition advice.

    How a big collection fits

    01

    Kept once

Recipes repeat themselves: the same headings, the same sources, the same phrases. Each repeated piece is kept one time, and every record can still be written back out exactly as it came.

    Checked against the original
    02

    Cut small

For reading, the collection is cut into small pieces: recipes in short runs, each kind's titles in pages, and title words by their first letters.

A piece is a few kilobytes
    03

    Fetched on request

Your phone asks for the one piece that holds what you searched or opened. The page tells you how much it has fetched so far.
